WHAT Is the Paranormal?

#1
My first post here. I just wanted to say thank you to the creator. I think the web still needs a corner like this still that is away from "social media". I am an early 2000's former ATS member btw. I'm glad someone made a replacement. It needed a purge from what it had become. It wasn't a fun place anymore. I hope the creator will let developers expand on this site and make it even greater than what has been envisioned already.

Okay my topic:

So lately, the girlfriend and I have been watching this show called "Paranormal" on HBO.

The "paranormal" phenomenon is something I have struggled with for a long time, and have tried my best to understand. I believe in Aliens, and I believe in Sasquatch. I don't believe Sasquatch is interdimensional however, just a left over hominid that survived and is an endangered species.

As we are watching these different ghostly encounters, I cant help but wonder if there is some sort of quantum mechanics at work here. The thing I struggle with is "how"? How are these disembodied figures walking around and able to summon up enough energy to physically move things in our physical realm? Are they able to see our realm and theirs? I hope I don't make this sound too elementary when I say "realm". Between shadow figures, mist, and objects moving, clearly there is a connection somewhere. Even after all of the videos we watch, I still find it hard to believe its real. I guess it needs to happen to me personally for me to believe it. I don't think I would be scared by it, but more fascinated by the science of it all as I am when we are watching the show.

I listen to a lot of NDEs, which, unrelated has brought me a lot of peace. From what I gather, "Death" isn't a real thing. Death is just a step into another realm, or waking up, much like you would from a dream. My understanding is that everything in the universe is connected, and that there are a ton of things we don't know or understand still. I do believe in a "heaven" so to speak, and a greater consciousness. I don't believe that "God" is a man sitting on a throne in the sky. My opinion of that is that "God" is everything that has ever been, ever was, and ever will be, and is connected to everything. I say this because everything that has been created and formed with an intelligence must come from somewhere right?

G'day from Australia SS2907, welcome aboard CA. Still a young site here, and Myke who runs the show is a sensible person - I'm sure CA will be here for the long run. I'm happier here than ATS.

What is the paranormal? I've not really thought about it before. Para-normal - maybe someone else's normal? A parallel normal? I guess that would be the case for the deceased. That would imply a degree of separation from the living and a slightly different physics, slightly different rules?

Welcome, SS2907.  Cheers!

Back in my 20's I felt reincarnation might be something like genetis memory, though scientists poo-pooed the idea. Now 'the science' has discovered memories can be carring and passed on in our DNA for 3 or 4 generations; possible more.

Everybody knows a mother who suddenly knows her child is in danger/trouble though they're miles apart. 'Intuition' and 'latent psychic abilities' were the answere from the experts, until the recent discover that every women who has birthed a child will carry that childs' DNA in their brain for the rest of their life. That's some trippy stuff!

The paranormal is just normal that scientists refused to accept. Now they're uncovering the mysteries in their regular research in ways they can no longer deny.

The goverment has had black ops projects studying the paranormal and psychic phenomenon since the late 1920's. The mest recent one was remote viewing, and with that revelation we discovered it had been researched for years before the public was allowed to know about it.

We are all made up of energy; what if, collectively, that energy can become a force and directed for purpose? Without intent, maybe it could create a ghost in its uncontrolled release. That would be a scry thing for people to realize they had that kind of power! (If you've ever been to a NA drumming ceremony asking for help from the Great Spirit you know that we DO posess that power, though most are unaware, thus no control over where they 'leak' their energy/power.)

We can hope the mRNA vac wasn't designed to mute that aspect of human nature.

The supernatural is the natural that's not yet understood.

Rudolf Steiner said, in one of his lectures, that science would eventually immunise against "soul". That was almost a hundred years ago.

Here is a twist of reasoning for you Nugget. It is generally considered that humans have a "soul" that leaves the body at death. This soul gets reborn. The argument is; when does the soul enter the body? Conception? The Rosicrucians say with the first breath.

So who are the "alien invaders" here? One might suggest that the human soul does the same as body-snatching and possession . . .  ; )

ETA: Come to think of it, That would account for the attitude and behaviour of religions - alien colonisation and subjugation . . .

Just depends on how you look at it. (wink wink - smile)
